Congrats to Don Carey whose 2013 graduate animation ‘Innisfree’ has been picked for the Encounters Festival in Bristol. The 4 other Irish shorts chosen are all Film Board funded Frameworks shorts. http://www.encounters-festival.org.uk/assets/files/files/Animated%20Selected.pdf

‘Innisfree’ has also been chosen for the Anibar Animation Festival in Kosovo and the Visible Verse Festival in Vancouver.

‘Complicit’ made by Gavin Hoffman and Eoin Coakley has been chosen at the AHRF Fest in Kabul, the Future360.tv festival and the Ecologico International Film Festival in Italy.

‘Curruid’ by Adam Kavanagh was one of five short animated films chosen by the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland to be played at an evening celebrating great Irish shorts in collaboration with the IFI. The evening was presented by Jason Tammemagi and aimed at celebrating Irish animation and showcasing home-grown talent. ‘Curruid’ was played alongside the award winning Irish shorts: ‘Fear Of Flying’ by Conor Finnegan, ‘Irish Folk Furniture’, ‘After You’ by Damien O’Connor and ‘Eat the Danger’ by Jack O’Shea and Paul Ruttlidge. A Q and A with the directors for the shorts concluded the evening.

Maureen Walshe’s short ‘The Sweet Life’ has been chosen at the Electric Lantern Festival in the UK, the No Gloss Film Festival also in the UK, the Worldkids International Film Festival in India and the International Short Festival of Uruguay.

Thrd year film ‘Reflections’ was Reflections was accepted for the shorts program at MIX Copenhagen (http://www.mixcopenhagen.dk/).

Finally, ISA was well represented at the summers Galway Film Fleadh with 9 ISA student shorts in competition: http://www.galwayfilmfleadh.com/programme.php?fest=8&ct=shorts&cid=4&t=new-irish-shorts-animation&id=953.
